How We Rate Bookmakers

Every bookmaker on MzansiWins is scored on a 5-point scale across 7 categories. Each category carries a different weight based on what matters most to South African punters.

Rating Categories

Welcome Bonus (25%)

We look at the headline amount, wagering requirements, minimum deposit, expiry period, and how straightforward the claim process actually is. A R5,000 bonus with 50x wagering is worse than a R500 bonus with 3x wagering.

Odds Quality (20%)

We compare odds on PSL football, Springbok rugby, and international cricket across all bookmakers. Consistently tight margins mean better value for punters.

Payment Methods (15%)

We check which SA-friendly methods are supported (Ozow, EFT, vouchers, cards), how fast deposits process, and most importantly, how quickly withdrawals actually land in your account.

Sports Coverage (15%)

Market depth matters. We check PSL coverage (including player props and corners), rugby union, cricket, horse racing, and niche sports like soccer and MMA.

Platform Quality (10%)

Mobile experience is king in SA. We test load speed, navigation, bet slip usability, and whether the app works properly on both Android and iOS.

Live Betting (10%)

In-play market availability, speed of odds updates, cash out options, and live streaming coverage.

Customer Support (5%)

Response time, channel availability (live chat, email, phone), and whether local SA support agents are available during business hours.

Overall Score

The overall rating is the weighted average of all 7 categories. We update scores quarterly or when there is a significant change to a platform.
